Why I Joined the Alumni Association Council

June Irvine ’09, Treasurer

As most online students know, pursing a degree while holding a job and dealing with all of life’s other challenges is demanding. Nevertheless, in 2009, at an age when most people are content to be pursuing their retirement goals, I received my Leadership MBA from Saint Joseph’s College Online. I consider this a life-changing event, so when the opportunity to join the newly organized Alumni Association Council presented itself, I welcomed the chance to give back. Serving on the Council has given me the opportunity to be part of a group that truly wants to make a difference. It has also given me the chance to meet and interact with on-campus alumni as well as other online alumni. The Council is a great group that epitomizes the core values and mission of Saint Joseph’s, and whose goal is to reach out to past and current student so that the SJC experience doesn’t end at graduation. I encourage all alumni to attend council events and to consider joining the Council. You can make a difference for your school.
