Pre-vet majors

student taking care of goatThe College’s farm, Pearson Town Farm, is looking for students interested in working with the farm animals. Most of the work will be with the goats and sheep, but there are also chickens, rabbits, turkeys (coming soon!) and the llama. The sheep and goats need monthly hoof trims, external parasite exams, and other general maintainence. We are also approaching lambing season, so you can witness and help with lambs being born. Shearing of the sheep in the Spring is also another opportunity for you.

Even if you aren’t interested in becoming a large animal vet, this type of experience can significantly increase your desirability to vet schools.

If you are interested, please contact either Michial Russell, our farm manager, at 310-0976 or Dr. Auger 893-7905.
