"Small Steps, Great Strides: 50 Years at the Lake" is a documentary about
Saint Joseph's College that weaves college artifacts, societal images
and a lively soundtrack of period music to depict the transformation of
a small, cramped-for-space women's college in Portland, Maine, to the
present-day co-ed institution on 350 acres along nearby Sebago Lake. more

of Pittsfield, Mass., has been hired as a laboratory assistant for Dr.
Mark Green, associate professor of marine science at Saint Joseph's College

The Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center has awarded
Dr. Mark Green of Peaks Island, associate professor of marine science
at Saint Joseph's College, nearly $9,000 for
a study on the use of submerged green-laser light to deter sea ducks from
feeding on cultivated mussels. more
On Tuesday, Oct. 17, Joseph Loughlin, Deputy Chief
of the Portland Police Department and co-author of the best-selling
book "Finding Amy: A True Story of Murder in Maine," will discuss the
book's fascinating, firsthand account of the investigation into
the murder of Amy St. Laurent, a murder that shocked southern Maine in
the fall of 2001. more

Ray Gerber of Brunswick, professor of biology at Saint
Joseph's College, has discovered a new species of crustacean while researching
zooplankton at the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean Sea. more
