Environmental day for kids

The Student Environmental Awareness Club at Saint Joseph’s College presents a chance for local students in Grades 2-4 to learn more about the ocean and have fun at the same time during Environmental Day on Saturday, April 26. Games and crafts will lead to an understanding of ocean environments and water ecology. In one activity students will be clams (and there will be a real live clam petting zoo!), while in another they get to be salmon swimming up stream. Another game involves being a water molecule zooming around the world. In one activity, they can design their own dream house.

The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Harold Alfond Center on the Standish campus. There is a $2 suggested donation to cover supplies. For more information, call 893-7723 or e-mail cdaniels@sjcme.edu.

While the event is aimed at students in Grades 2-4, anyone interested is encouraged to come.
