Rep. Tom Allen to address election year issues at Saint Joseph's College forum

Saint Joseph's College will sponsor a forum, "Election Year Issues to Consider," with Congressman Tom Allen and Professor William Yates on Monday, Feb 9. Rep. Allen, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from southern Maine, will speak on health care and the environment, including mercury pollution. Yates, chairman of the Communications Department at Saint Joseph's and former news anchor and assignment editor for WCSH-TV (Channel 6) in Portland, will speak on how media coverage affects politics and how politicians respond to advocacy groups. A question-and-answer period will follow the presentation, which will take place at 4 p.m. in Xavier Lounge on the Saint Joseph's campus in Standish. For further information, please call 893-7723.
