As part of its Aspects of American Culture Series, Saint Joseph's College presents "Grace and Lived Christianity in the Theology of Karl Rahner and Leonardo Boff," a talk by Sr. Marilyn Sunderman, RSM, associate professor of theology. The presentation compares the two theologians' understanding of grace, including Jesus as the embodiment of grace and the Trinitarian, gratuitous and universal nature of grace. Sunderman will discuss Rahner and Boff's treatment of the relationship of grace to Christian living, with special emphasis on love of neighbor, prayer and the experience of suffering. The talk concludes with a critique of these theologians' contributions to this area of theology. The event is Monday, Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge of the Alfond Center on the Standish campus.
