After graduating from SJC, I took a year off and took some time to travel and gain perspective on where I wanted my education and career to take me. During this year I was accepted to Divinity School in Boston, MA where I completed sixty credits of my Masters in Divinity degree. During this time I interned as a chaplain at Westborough State Psychiatric Hospital and served as a student pastor at First Baptist Church in Newton Center, MA. I had the opportunity to lead two mission groups during those years: one to Central America and one to Mississippi (Hurricane Katrina relief project). However, in my second year in Boston and after some deep contemplation and reflection I felt a more specific calling to trauma chaplaincy and decided to transfer to Liberty University in Virginia. Currently this is where I am completing my Masters in Divinity-Chaplaincy degree and enjoying it thoroughly.

Since I'm completing my degree online and not enrolled full time, I'm presently working with my fiancé at Maine Medical Center. The current position that I hold is an Administrative Coordinator III for the Pastoral Services department of Maine Medical Center in Portland. Additionally, over the last fifteen months of working at MMC I have become a nursing companion throughout the hospital and an on-call chaplain. It's been an incredible experience and one that I would have never thought to engage in without the background I received at SJC. Moreover, due to the foundation I received at SJC and what I was able to build upon, I have recently obtained my pre-ordination license from the American Baptist Church and am seeking a home church in which to be ordained in as a trauma chaplain.

Having obtained a Theology degree from SJC, I have a true appreciation of just how many doors have opened in many diverse parts of my life and I am incredibly grateful for the education I have received. I have not only taken what I have learned in the classroom and applied it to what I do every day at work, but I took the travel experiences and memorable conversations and applied them to my life's ultimate goals. SJC even provided a basis to what my ambitions and hopes for the future are. I am now taking the next step in my personal life as I will marry my fiancé John in September and become a step-mother to an adorable little boy named Eli.
