The College will offer a course in CPR-AED for Professional Rescuers & Health Care Providers on Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Harold Alfond Center. The Red Cross-certified course is designed for the professional rescuer, including lifeguards, nurses, athletic trainers, EMTs and CANs - anyone whose duty involves responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies.
Participants will learn to care for adults, children and infants who are unconscious and nonresponsive. After completing all requirements of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification valid for two years.
The course runs on Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the cost is $65 (or $55 for recertification). The course will also run on Dec. 11 and Jan. 8, 2011. If a class is needed on a different day, Saint Joseph's can create a class at another time if there are four interested people. Call 893-6615 or e-mail email@example.com to register or for more information. To learn about other Red Cross classes on campus, go to www.sjcme.edu/alfond/redcross.
