New Sustainability Studies Minor

Next fall, a new sustainability studies minor will allow students to examine issues related to sustainability – like climate change, energy production, biodiversity loss, declining agricultural production, pollution and water shortages – from an interdisciplinary perspective. Courses in the minor will engage students in community-based learning allowing them to gain hands-on experience in implementing sustainable solutions to local problems, often closely intertwined with their major. This minor prepares students to face the challenges associated with the 21st-century economy.
