Service learning is the
combination of community service
and classroom instruction, with a focus on critical,
reflective thinking as well as personal and civic responsibility. |
|
| Service learning is an important component
of the academic programs of the College. A distinction, however, needs
to be made between service and service learning. Community service
activities are primarily co-curricular and are sponsored by Campus
Ministry. Service learning, as a part of the academic program, engages
students in course-based activities with community-based organizations.
Currently, fourteen departments have one or more service learning
courses. |
