While most college students head to tropical beaches during spring break, some St. Joe's students volunteer their services in low-income areas that have included Appalachia, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C. and Passamaquoddy Reservation (Maine). Typically they help to build or repair homes and work in soup kitchens, but all service experiences immerse students in the community where they serve so they can return home with a new perspective of human dignity and justice. The Spring Break Workfest program is supported through participant fees, a campus auction, student fundraisers and Annual Fund donations.
