Liz Wiesen, Psy.D.
Liz is a licensed psychologist and the director of the Counseling Center. She received her doctorate in psychology at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and completed her pre-and post-doctoral internship at the University of Maine Counseling Center, Orono, Maine.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, camping and canoeing. She's an animal-lover and an avid fan of college basketball. Her most memorable (and embarrassing) college experience involved getting inadvertently locked in the library when it closed early for Thanksgiving break.
David Lischer, LCSW
David is a licensed clinical social worker who is on
staff at the Counseling Center as both a counselor and as coordinator of
training, outreach and prevention. He received his graduate degree in social
work from the University of Maine, Orono, and completed his internship at the
Mid-Coast Hospital Psychiatric Unit.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his wonderful dog, Cassie,
whether in the woods, fields, or ocean, while desperately trying to restrain
Cassie’s natural urge to roll around in deceased ocean life that has washed
ashore. David’s most memorable college experience involved running out of gas in
the middle of a tollbooth during a blizzard in Buffalo, New York, when rushing
to get to an undergraduate final exam.
Cassie, golden retriever
She hails from White River Junction, Vermont, and has been a Maine resident since December 1998. Cassie enjoys her job as Counseling Center canine assistant, where she's worked on and off since 2000. Outside of work, Cassie enjoys playtime with her cousins, Geordie and Mazie, and she absolutely loves cantaloupe.
