The Vermont State Police is currently recruiting
20 Troopers for a January 2007 Academy class.
The Vermont State Police is the the largest police agency in the state
of Vermont and provides full police services to over 200 towns and assist
other agencies upon request. A Vermont State Trooper is part of
an elite team of people who strive to do their best in serving citizens
and visitors of this state.
The base salary of a newly hired Trooper is $34,691.15 which progresses
through seniority steps to a top base salary of $67,356.90. A Trooper
normally receives a yearly cost of living increase in addition to the
above. Troopers also receive compensation for shift work, overtime,
on call pay, call-ins for court, call outs after hours, and holidays worked.
