Suellen Chaplin-Beckett teaches Therapeutic Communication, Holistic Health, and Stress Management for the Nursing and Health and Wellness departments. She has an extensive background in undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as being a child and family psychotherapist and consultant in the community. She currently provides mental health services in private practice in Portland, Maine. In her spare time, Professor Chaplin-Beckett enjoys dancing (specifically Nia—a combination of dance, martial arts, and healing arts), swimming, hiking, kayaking, many forms of outdoor recreation, and learning new holistic health interventions.
