Jonathan Malmude has focused on international problems related to the two World Wars and Cold War, including broadly linked matters of finance, trade, development, and militarism. In 2009, Professor Malmude’s highly praised presentation to the Maine Classical Association discussed ancient and modern “master patterns” in history related to our times.
Professor Malmude’s work on Credit Mobilization in Britain’s Financial Diplomacy of the 1920’s was evaluated, passed, officially stamped and adopted by the Bank of England: it is presently available to current and future international scholars. Based on primary sources, this book is an official archival source of the Bank of England, registered in its archive library, and is effectively published-in-place. He has been honored for his many years of service as both chair of the Saint Joseph’s College Department of History and as Faculty Senate President. He loves poetry, visual art, and the history of ideas.
