William Yates has more than 30 years experience in professional mass media and higher education, working in commercial television, radio, and public relations. His teaching and research interests include media ethics, the effects of technology on American culture, and issues involving academic integrity and plagiarism. His other activities include community service and membership in professional organizations like the Maine Public Relations Council, Public Relations Society of America, and the Society of Professional Photojournalists. Outside of work, he enjoys photography, touring, and political science. He enjoys working with college students who are interested in professional careers.
His hobbies include still photography and reading.
