What do you like about St. Joe's?

I really enjoy the community feel that we have here. The class sizes are small so you can get to know your professor on a personal level. Everyone knows everyone here and it really makes us all feel comfortable living here. Not to mention it’s a beautiful location and close to everything we need.

What's great about student life here?

Student life does a great job keeping us entertained with brand new events all the time, popular fan favorites like Comedy on Tap. The best part is that if we have an idea or suggestion, they'll gladly listen and do whatever they can to make it happen. The intramural program is a great way to get out and meet new people as well as bring out everyone's competitive side.

What specifically do you like about your program (major)?

I really enjoy the new Human Performance Lab that we have here. It allows us to not only assess our clients but also allows us to create effective and efficient programs for a variety of different goals. I also enjoy personal training for our students, staff, and faculty and always working to improve the health and wellness of our campus. The major also allows us so many options after graduation to further our education or pursue numerous career opportunities.

If you’ve done an internship, can you tell me about it and if a professor helped you get it, or led you to it, would you talk about that?

I've had an opportunity to observe and participate in a number of different settings include personal training, physical therapy, and facility management. I was lucky enough to become an intern at the Alfond Center through my work-study job and have gained experience overseeing an exercise facility. I've also observed in a physical therapy clinic where things I've learned in the classroom can be applied to real word scenarios. I've also been a personal trainer through the college's wellness programs such as SJC Bootcamp and Positive Pound Challenge.

The college has helped make me who I was meant to be. I have the freedom to make my own choices, to search out my own interests − the college gives me the support to achieve all my goals. My experience on the baseball team has also been one of the greatest experiences of my entire life, forging life-long bonds with my teammates, and winning championships that I'll never forget.
