For International Students

Admission requirements for English-speaking international students will follow the same procedure as first-year students.

Application

Saint Joseph's accepts freshman applications through the Common App. To apply for the fall semester, begin your Common App, or add Saint Joseph's to your list of "My Colleges." Saint Joseph's accepts applications on a rolling basis, with the exception of Nursing, and our application has no fee to apply.

Transcript

Official high school transcripts/college transcript: Your translated transcript must contain the subjects that you studied and the marks or grades received. Your transcripts need to be translated into English and converted to a 100 pt. scale. For more information visit their site: www.wes.org.

  • Looking for college prep program
  • Minimum GPA of 2.6 on 4.0 scale (B, B- average)
  • Core courses consisting of math, science, history and first language courses

Recommendation

Have your guidance or college counselor send in a recommendation. Send in an additional recommendation from a teacher, or a person of your choice (i.e. advisor, coach, previous employer). A total of 2 recommendations are required.

Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores

Submit original Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores, if English is your second language. A TOEFL score at or above the 50th percentile on the internet-based, computer-based or paper-based exams is preferred. An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score may be accepted in lieu of the TOEFL.

SAT or ACT scores

Send SAT or ACT scores to the admissions office. Required for high school students and transfer students who have graduated from high school within the past five years and have fewer than 15 college credit hours.

Verify Funds

Once you have been accepted, we require official bank statements verifying the availability of funds. This must be either a bank statement or a credit reference from a bank indicating a specific dollar amount in the account, or a statement verifying the minimum of the college costs.
