Special Guest Speaker: Tom Barry, Executive Secretary for the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF), Biodiversity working group of the Arctic Council
The melting of the polar ice caps has opened up new economic potential in the Arctic Circle. But climate change and increased human activity have an ecological impact. Tom Barry, fresh from the Arctic Council meeting in Portland, will discuss threats to Arctic biodiversity and how what happens in the Arctic has consequences around the globe, including here in Maine.
Join us for this first-hand account of what the Council is doing to conserve Arctic biodiversity—and why we should all care.
