Constitution Day

September 17th marks the anniversary of the adoption of the United States Constitution by the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia in 1787. We pause each year of this day to celebrate the Constitution as the cornerstone of our democratic republic. We also reflect on how current political trends live up or fall short of our founding Constitutional principles.

Today, we reflect upon the Constitution and invite members of the Saint Joseph’s community to explore the web-based resources listed below.

We also invite you to take advantage of a unique opportunity offered by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History to go inside their vault and see some of their historical treasures like rare copies of the Constitution’s rough draft, George Washington’s thoughts on the Constitution, and more! (Special guest will be Conroe Brooks, who is currently playing four separate roles in the touring company of “Hamilton”!)

This free webinar will take place on Thursday, September 17 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET on Zoom.
