The Politics of the Sustainable Development Goals
Lecture by Mark Hibben, Ph.D., Department of History and Political Science.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a 17 point platform adopted by the United Nations in 2015, is the most ambitious development project in human history. If fulfilled by 2030, the SDGs will eradicate severe global poverty and inequality and produce a sustainable environment and economic future. This talk assesses the promises and perils of implementing the SDGs.
