Dining

All Dining Facilities

This year, some of the biggest changes on campus are taking place in our dining areas. Please keep your masks on and sanitize your hands on your way in, and follow all marked signs and dining services employee instructions. Floor decals and signage designating where to stand, wait and pick up online food orders will help accommodate physical distancing. There will be a one-way flow to enter and exit, which will be clearly marked.

Seating in all dining areas will be limited to one person per table. We have added additional seating areas to include the old campus bookstore in Mercy Hall and multiple outside areas. Please refer to the online map for exact locations and the seating capacity of each of them. Note that some dining areas are self-sanitizing areas.

Face coverings are required while in all of our dining facilities. You may remove your mask once you are seated at a table while eating and drinking.

Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at the entrance of all dining areas and the servery. You must sanitize your hands on the way in, and we encourage you to use them again on your way out.

The use of personal cutlery items are prohibited in all areas (this include coffee cups, plates, etc.)

All self-serve beverage stations must be self-sanitized after use at Baggot Street, Pearson’s and the satellite coffee stations. Please do your part to contain the community spread of COVID-19.

Pearson’s

All meals at Pearson’s will be served in reusable containers. Each student will receive a container upon Campus arrival, and you must bring your reusable container and your school ID with you every time you dine at Pearson’s. You can turn in your container when you enter, and you will be given a clean TO-GO container when you select something from any of our hot food stations. We have restricted all self-service stations, and our staff will be on hand to help you select your meal. When you exit the servery, please sanitize your hands again and then pick up your drink and utensils.

Maximum capacity in the servery at Pearson’s is 10 at any given time. We will be there to let you know when you can enter. We have extended our hours in Pearson’s to reduce crowding as much as possible, and we will not close between lunch and dinner – all offerings will be available from open to close. Pearson’s will now be open Monday-Friday, 7am to 8pm an the weekends we will open for Brunch at 10am until 2pm and Dinner 4:30pm until 8pm.

Diners from outside of the SJC community will not be permitted at Pearson’s this semester.

Seating is limited to 52 people in Pearson’s.  We have added additional seating throughout Campus, please refer to the online map to locate all seating options.  Note that some spaces are self sanitizing areas, this means you will be responsible for sanitizing your space when you leave.

Baggot Street Café

Faculty and Staff: We ask that you use Baggot Street or online ordering (for either Pearson’s or Baggot Street) instead of entering Pearson’s cafe. Given the time restrictions our students will face, we need to make sure we can feed all of our students. We will re-evaluate this plan one month into the fall semester, once we have a sense of the flow through the dining room and servery.

Brewed Awakenings

Unfortunately Brewed Awakenings will not be open this fall, in compliance with CDC guidelines. Free coffee will be set up at various stations throughout Campus. Please do not enter Pearson’s for complimentary coffee.

Online Ordering

Pearson’s menu offerings for the fall semester are currently online. We encourage you to take a look and be prepared before arriving to help facilitate the process.

Online orders for Pearson’s will need to be placed the day before. You may choose from three pick up times.

We will specialize each menu for any catering needs. Please note that this will take extra time with limited resources as we re-open. We can no longer provide platers and buffet style meals. Each meal will either be served by a member of the Food Service team or will be individually wrapped. Any large groups or special events that plan to use Pearson’s regular dining services will need to be discussed ahead of time.
