As a studio assistant to art professor Scott Fuller, fine art and business management double-major Nate Winter received the personalized, career-focused education he needed to pursue his dream of living a successful life as an artist. On campus, Nate’s refined his raku – an ancient Japanese pottery firing process – and at Portland’s First Friday Art Walk he learned the trade of selling the very work he creates. In the summer of his junior year, Nate travelled with professor Fuller and National Geographic magazine photographer Mauricio Handler to the Gulf of Mexico to document whale sharks.

Watch Nate’s video, filmed and edited by Dana Robichaud ’16, communications major.
