Scholarships

New Students

  • If you are applying for full-time enrollment in a degree program for Fall, you will be considered for scholarship assistance.
  • If you are eligible for a tuition waiver through the tuition exchange program or as a dependent of an employee, you are not eligible for the academic/merit scholarship awarded by the Admission Committee.
  • Scholarships can be renewed for up to 4 years (8 semesters) of consecutive full-time study. Renewal for incoming transfer students will depend on the number of credits accepted in transfer.
  • Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress unless a higher standard is listed below.

Returning Students

  • Returning students will continue to be considered for the merit programs they currently receive. The annual amount of the scholarship does not change. One half the annual amount is available each semester that the student is enrolled full-time.
  • If you are eligible for a tuition waiver through the tuition exchange program or as a dependent of an employee, you are not eligible for the academic/merit scholarship awarded by the Admission Committee.
  • These scholarships can be renewed for up to 4 years of full-time study. Renewal for incoming transfer students will depend on the number of credits accepted in transfer.
  • Students who graduate early will forfeit a portion of the scholarship.
  • To renew the scholarship, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Sisters of Mercy Scholarships

Eva Albee Kelley Scholarship

  • Women from Lincoln County, Maine with financial need
  • Generally ranges from $1,000 to $20,000
  • Up to four years of full-time study with similar financial need and satisfactory academic progress
  • Apply for aid by priority deadline and complete application available from Office of Financial Aid - application must be returned by March 1st to receive full consideration.
  • This fund replaces any College grant and scholarship initially offered through the financial aid process. 

Sarah T. Burke Scholarship

  • Parishioners of St. Patrick's or its successor in Lewiston, Maine
  • Generally ranges from $500 to $3,000
  • Up to four years of full-time study with similar financial need and satisfactory academic progress
  • Apply for aid by priority deadline, provide letter to Office of Financial Aid from parish priest regarding current parish involvement. This letter must be received by March 1st.

Endowed and Restricted Scholarships

  • All current full-time, Sebago campus students who are eligible for financial aid and have earned at least a 3.0 CGPA at the College; specific scholarship criteria may be considered
  • Awards usually range from $200 to $3,000
  • Generally a one-time award; funds are used to offset current grant and/or scholarship eligibility
  • Automatic consideration; recipients must complete a brief biographical form and provide a letter of appreciation to the donor to receive the funds

Outside Scholarships

  • Non-renewable outside scholarships may be used to fill any unmet institutional need first.
  • If a change is required because no remaining need exists and you have received a Perkins or Nursing Loan this will be reduced first.
  • After those resources are exhausted a change to grant funds will be made. Note: Our scholarship funds are not reduced unless the total of your funds exceeds our total cost.
  • The College reserves the right to use renewable outside resources to offset its own grant funds regardless of unmet financial need.
  • Dollars for Scholars┬« scholarship funds are matched up to $500 for students who have unmet institutional need. It is recommended that the student submit documentation by August 1 as funds are available on a first come, first served basis.
  • All outside scholarships must be reported to the Office of Financial Aid within 30 days of student notification. Financial aid candidates will receive a scholarship reporting form that must be returned to us by our annually announced June due date before any aid will be paid to the account.
