At Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, we grow community. Continually renewed by our Mercy values, our approach weaves together the space, the skills, and the spirit that every successful learner requires. Community grows in our people and across our breathtaking campus, from here to the world.

    Space to Grow

My advice is to get out on campus and get out in Maine. Sebago Lake is a blessing. You are able to take a step back, deep breath and enjoy nature while you learn.

Experience Lakes, Mountains, Ocean, & the City in Your Backyard.

On the shores of Maine’s second largest lake and just 15 miles from Portland, the state’s largest city, Saint Joseph’s offers a lot of ground to cover.

    The Great Outdoors

Our campus is uniquely situated on 474 acres of forestland and 2,100 feet of shorefront on Sebago Lake. Let our private wooded waterfront location be your next home.

    Access to the City

Just beyond our active campus lies Portland, Maine’s largest city and a bustling cultural and economic center. Selected by Forbes Magazine as one of the best cities for young adults, Portland is an ideal place for creativity to flourish.

    LIFE & COMMUNITY

    Environmental Science Semester:

Immerse yourself in the practice of field science for an entire semester.

    Study Away in Granada, Spain:

Saint Joseph’s offers programs for students ranging from one week to an entire semester.

    Service Trips:

Whether traveling to Guatemala to provide medical aid, or to Haiti to construct new homes, our students make a difference in the world.

    Spring Break Workfest:

For 30 years SJC students have been trading swimsuits for shovels, sacrificing a traditional spring break experience to perform service work for those less fortunate in places like Kentucky, New York, and New Orleans.

I have traveled to New Orleans, LA, and Kampala, Uganda, to support people in need. During spring break workfest my junior year I traveled with a small group to NOLA where we volunteered at multiple local organizations to provide an extra hand. It was invigorating, trying new things and meeting new people. It’s humbling to interact with people with different backgrounds and even though LA is within the USA, it’s eye opening how much a little help can go a long way

    Adapting to COVID-19

We’ve adjusted what learning looks like on campus in light of COVID-19. With updated operations, procedures, and responsible class sizes, we’ll be able to provide space to focus at SJC, because students should be able to concentrate on their education first and leave their safety concerns to us.

After our soccer season was cancelled by COVID-19, Saint Joseph’s offered us 5th-year eligibility. It’s a huge silver lining to the pandemic, because now I’m planning to use the extra time to earn my MBA. It’s a chance to end our time here the right way while opening up so many more opportunities. I don’t know that I would have made this decision if things hadn’t happened this way, but it’s going to benefit our careers.
