Cup” Hockey Tournament to honor Frank Fixaris The first annual “Fix Cup” Hockey tournament to honor Frank Fixaris and benefit the Frank Fixaris Memorial Endowment at Saint Joseph's College will take place Monday, Jan. 22 and Monday, Jan. 29 at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland. Teams from Falmouth High School, Cheverus High School, Scarborough High School and Cape Elizabeth High School will compete for the championship and the coveted “Fix Cup” Trophy. On Sunday, Jan. 21, a pre-tournament kick-off dinner, hosted by the Scarborough High School Hockey Boosters, will gather all the teams, coaches, partners and supporters to kick off the event. At 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 22, Falmouth High School will play Cheverus High School, followed by an 8 p.m. game with Scarborough High School skating against Cape Elizabeth High School. On Monday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. a consolation game will be played, followed by the “Fix Cup” Championship at 8 p.m., between the winners of the previous week's games. Tickets for each night will be $7 per adult/$4 per student, and will include both games. All ticket proceeds go directly to the Frank Fixaris Memorial Endowment at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The tournament sponsors are BBI Waste Industries, Cumberland County Civic Center, Creative Awards, Creative Imaging Group and Ricetta's Brick Oven Pizzeria. Saint Joseph's College has established a memorial endowment that will honor and continue the legacy of Frank Fixaris, a man who meant so much to sports enthusiasts. In this spirit, Saint Joseph's is partnering with family, friends, colleagues, organizations and sports fans to build an enduring legacy. The Frank Fixaris Memorial Endowment will establish academic scholarships and provide stipends to middle school and high school athletes enabling them to attend sports camps. The “Fix Cup” Hockey tournament will be an annual event to benefit the endowment.
