Nursing has been an incredible journey for Martha. She has been involved in many areas of specialty practice and fulfilled many roles both in and out of the hospital. Each of these opportunities have led to personal and professional growth.

Martha brings a wide range of nursing experience to the College. Former positions have included: Cardiac Intermediate Care, Post-cardiothoracic surgery, Medical Telemetry, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Float pool, Oncology, Orthopedics/Trauma nursing. She’s also served three year’s as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in Maine (Norway and Auburn), and as a Relief Charge Nurse. She started doing clinical rotations at SJC in 2000 and in 2002 taught freshman and sophomore level students in the on-campus program until 2011, and Family Nurse Practitioner students in the distance education program until 2012. Most recently, Martha returned back to the acute care setting as a clinical educator and Clinical Resource Nurse, working closely with the administration, physicians, staff, and patient/families to initiate evidence-based practice and improve patient outcomes.

In her spare time Martha enjoys all things Disney! She spends time cruising, fishing, especially ocean/deep sea, snorkeling, going to the beach. And, of course, doing research.
