I am a dedicated healthcare leader with more than 30 years of hands-on experience in the healthcare field. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated innovation and a strong focus on customer service as an administrator, specializing in various aspects of long-term care. As a Licensed New York State Nursing Home Administrator, I have held a wide range of roles in both acute and long-term care settings, building a comprehensive understanding of organizational healthcare operations. My key strengths include excellent customer service, expertise in healthcare finance, experience with human resource management, emergency preparedness and safety, OSHA compliance, Life Safety, as well as streamlining operations and strategic planning. I also have experience in activity and event planning, effective communication, problem solving, project management, and oversight of major construction projects and building maintenance. Staff development and a deep familiarity with the regulatory survey process are additional areas of strength.
My journey in healthcare began as a teenager, working in the dietary department of an acute care hospital. While gaining practical experience, I continued my education and earned my college degree from Saint Joseph’s College. These early experiences laid the foundation for my growth and development within the healthcare field. I had many careers within the nursing home and managed several departments before becoming a Nursing Home Administrator.
A significant portion of my career has been devoted to ensuring high-quality care for frail seniors and vulnerable adults. After obtaining my New York State Nursing Home Administrator’s License, I served as a nursing home administrator for a decade at multiple facilities across New York. During this time, I found great fulfillment in providing compassionate care to individuals during their moments of need.
I currently reside in Upstate New York and spend winters in Florida with my husband. We have two grown children. I look forward to sharing and learning together throughout this semester.
