Centers and Institutes
Saint Joseph’s College is a learning destination that has been empowering learners of all ages since 1912. In an effort to serve as a multi-generational educational community that addresses several of Maine’s cultural and workforce development needs, the College has strategically developed centers and institutes that engage with the greater community — Sebago Center, Center for Faith and Spirituality, Center for Sustainable Communities, Institute for Local Food Systems Innovation, and Institute for Integrative Aging.
The Center for Sustainable Communities fosters innovation and leadership through the intersection of social justice and sustainability.
The Institute for Integrative Aging recognizes the multi-dimensional aspects of aging (physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual), considering the societal factors that impact aging (socio-economic, urban vs. rural issues, cultural identity).
This Institute is an innovation hub for sustainable agriculture & economic development supporting Maine’s food & beverage industry, and is driven by our institutional pursuit of environmental and social justice.
