The 2019 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) awards have been announced. Senior Director of Athletics, Brian Curtin, and Assistant Director of Athletics for Communication, Corey McCarthy, have been chosen as GNAC Executive of the Year and GNAC Sports Information Director of the Year. The awards are selected by a vote of their peers at fellow conference institutions.
This award for Curtin will mark as his fourth GNAC Executive of the Year. He will begin his 14th year at Saint Joseph’s College athletics. All ten of Saint Joseph’s record-bearing teams made appearances in the GNAC Tournaments, with field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and baseball all capturing the GNAC championship throughout the 2018-19 academic year.
McCarthy is named as Sports Information Director for the third time and has been with Saint Joseph’s College for twelve years. McCarthy oversees students who serve as Sports Information Interns; more than 40 students have served in this position and have further advanced their career in this field as a result. He has built the platform for Monks Athletics social media and has continued to implement a high social media presence.
Congratulations to these two members of the Saint Joseph’s College community for receiving these well-deserved awards!
