When Do I Choose Housing?
- Admitted students choose housing at New Student Orientation.
- Current students choose housing in mid-winter.
Our Residential Living Team
The Residential Living Team is comprised of the Director of Residential Living, three Community Coordinators, a lead Resident Advisor, and 30 Resident Advisors. The Community Coordinators are responsible for certain residential areas of campus. They live in the residence halls and supervise the Resident Advisors in those halls.
A Resident Advisor (RA) is normally a junior or senior chosen during the previous spring for this role. The RA helps students develop in personal and academic areas. The RA is trained in listening and helping skills and assisting students in self-governance, programming, community functions, locating campus resources, housing procedures and mutual respect for others.
Students are encouraged to get to know their RA and to help create a positive living/learning environment. Student input is welcome in decisions. The guidelines associated with living in the halls are explained in the student handbook and students are expected to know them and abide by them.
