The Residential Life team is dedicated to safe, clean, and affordable housing, as well as an experience that includes a supportive and respectful community. The residence life program embraces the principles and values expressed in the mission of the College.
Students who live on campus find that the residence hall life encourages them to grow outside the classroom as well as inside.
Residence Life Team
The Residential Life team is formed by the Associate Dean of Students, three Area Coordinators, and 33 Resident Advisors. The Area Coordinators are responsible for certain residential areas of campus. They live in the residence halls and supervise the Resident Advisors in those halls.
A Resident Advisor (RA) is normally a junior or senior chosen during the previous spring for this role. The RA helps students develop in personal and academic areas. The RA is trained in listening and helping skills and assisting students in self-governance, programming, community functions, locating campus resources, housing procedures and mutual respect for others.
Students are encouraged to get to know their RA and to help create a positive living/learning environment. Student input is welcome in decisions. The guidelines associated with living in the halls are explained in the student handbook and students are expected to know them and abide by them.
