Early Scholars Program (ESP) @ SJC - What is the Early Scholars Program?

  • High school seniors and juniors accelerate learning in exciting college-level courses
  • Take up to 10 college courses over four on-campus semesters or twelve online terms through Saint Joseph’s College of Maine
  • Take advantage of completing college credits early at a discounted price
  • Cost: Only $50 per credit hour

  • Fall A 8-Week Online Term (Starting August 25, 2025)
  • Fall B 8-Week Online Term (Starting October 20, 2025)

How to Apply for Our Early Scholars Program

1/ Complete the Application

Request an application form from your guidance counselor, by calling the Early Scholars Program at 207-893-7927, emailing academics@sjcme.edu or by downloading it HERE. Registration will take place the week before the semester begins. All classes will be assigned on a space-available, first-come, first-served basis.

2/ Request a Recommendation

Request a written recommendation from your school counselor. Home-schooled students should provide a letter of academic recommendation from a non-family member.

3/ Request Transcript

Request an official copy of your high school transcript.

4/ Submit

Submit the Application, the Recommendation and Transcript to the Office of Academic Affairs (academics@sjcme.edu)

Once received, your file will be reviewed by the Office of Academic Affairs for approval. You will be notified via email of our decision.
