We’re so glad you’re here.
If the recent outbreak of the coronavirus has proven one thing, it’s that community isn’t just a place. It’s a shared commitment to values, and the skills to put those values to work. That’s why we’re here. Saint Joseph’s College of Maine enriches knowledge with Mercy values – teaching lifelong learners to grow the spirit of community.
So whether you’re interested in caring for the sick, educating young people, building a business, keeping people safe, stewarding the earth, or many other opportunities to make a difference, Saint Joseph’s College provides the space to further your impact on the world. While you’re here, you can explore our programs below, take a Virtual Tour, or reach out for more info about admissions. If you’re excited to grow community in a world that needs you more than ever, you’re in the right place.
We grow frontline heroes.
At Saint Joseph’s, you can start nursing courses your first year, and get hands-on clinical experience sophomore year. Our faculty consider themselves mentors, and they consistently go above and beyond to help you succeed. You’ll learn in the community as well as on campus: at hospitals, visiting nurse agencies, schools, long-term care agencies, and community health corporations.
Working nurses can view their nursing career from a new perspective while developing skills for nurse leadership in patient-centered health care delivery or educational settings with our online MSN program.
We grow the future.
Get in the classroom from the get go. At Saint Joseph’s, an education degree means real-world experience with teachers and children – all four years. Check out our programs in elementary, special, physical, secondary education, or STEM education.
For those wanting to further their career, our Master of Science in Education enables teachers and administrators to expand their career opportunities in four distinct areas: public K-12 schools, Catholic schools, health care education, and adult training.
We grow opportunity.
At Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, there’s no such thing as business as usual. Our programs will advance your knowledge, your skills, and your career in a collaborative and supportive community. Choose from multiple areas of expertise. Earn a degree in 3 years, or a degree + master’s in 4 and save. Learn hands-on skills to work for any company or start your own. Earn your degree on campus or online, or continue your professional development through CPA workshops offering CPE hours.
We grow respect for all.
Gain a sound understanding of crime, justice, and the criminal justice system, and how it shapes communities. Our campus program courses incorporate field trips, demonstrations, and volunteer opportunities into the curriculum. Students also gain real-world experience through a full year internship.
Our online Interdisciplinary Studies program offers working adults the ability to finish their degree. The Criminal Justice minor offers opportunities for students to examine society’s perceptions of crime and law enforcement.
We grow stewards.
The best way to learn science and sustainability is through hands-on experience. Our field-oriented research is a major component of our curriculum. Students take to the field in courses, labs, internships, independent studies, and senior research. Gain the skills and methods for innovative research, analysis, and synthesis – in the lab, and across the living lab that is the state of Maine.
Prepare for a career shaping scientific discoveries, and advancing knowledge in your community.
