Dr. Mahoney comes from a long career in elementary education. He’s worked for 28 years in elementary schools - 15 years as an elementary school teacher and 13 years as a Curriculum Coordinator and teacher coach for mathematics. He has taught in all grades, pre-Kindergarten through grade six in both public and private schools. His early experiences in the classroom lead him into a specialization in the teaching and learning of elementary mathematics. Dr. Mahoney consults with schools both nationally and internationally in their work with implementing mathematics curricula from other countries such as Singapore.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, camping, fishing, hiking, and art.
