As a parent or guardian of a Saint Joseph’s College student, you are officially part of the Parent Association and this special Saint Joseph’s College community.  The Parents Association works in conjunction with the College to further enhance your student’s collegiate experience and further the goals of Saint Joseph’s College. The SJC Parents Association operates under the Office of Institutional Advancement in cooperation with Admissions, Athletic, and Campus Life.

The Parents Association provides guardians a chance to connect with each other and support the mission of Saint Joseph’s College in a variety of different ways. To sign-up to be notified of potential Volunteer opportunities, please fill out the Parent Interest Form.


Ways to Stay Involved

  • Join the Saint Joseph’s College online networks – Facebook and LinkedIn.
  • Take part in a variety of different on-campus, regional, and athletic events
  • Assist students with career development through our Connections program by sharing internships, research & job opportunities.
  • Attend Family Weekend, the Annual Golf Tournament, Monktoberfest and more!
  • Be an ambassador for the College by hosting events for Families, prospective student and/or alumni in your area.
  • Serve as a resource for students looking to pursue employment or graduate school in your field.
  • Support new opportunities for all SJC students by making an annual gift to the Parents Fund and talk with other parents about doing the same.

Parents Leadership Council

Parents Leadership Council

The Parents Leadership Council is a 20-member board that serves for a 2-year term. Members are asked to serve on at least one committee, attend a variety of Parent Council & SJC events throughout the year, and help connect other SJC parents with the life of the college.

  1. Athletics & Royal Blue Club
  • Welcome parents of incoming and current student-athletes
  • Support and attend the Athletic Department Golf Tournament
  • Work with coaches to help identify and recruit future Monks
  • Attend sporting events and cheer on the Monks

 

  1. Connections Program
  • Help connect students with internships, research & job opportunities
  • Serve as a resource for students looking to pursue employment or graduate school in your field.
  • Assist with and attend the career fair in February and other SJC career events and panels throughout the year.

 

  1. Admissions & Prospective Student Programming
  • Host or attend Regional Admission events for prospective families
  • Assist with or host events for current families
  • Connect with prospective parents and serve as a resource for them during the Admissions process.
  • Attend New Student Orientation in June

 

  1. Funding for Student Activities
  • Provide insight into potential parent campaigns and help inspire a culture of philanthropy among Parents & Students
  • Send thank-you notes to Parent Donors of behalf of the Council
  • Host or attend donor receptions to introduce other parents to SJC Faculty and Staff
  • Assist with and attend parent receptions & Family Weekend
