CERTIFICATE TO DEGREE PROGRAM

Winchester Medical Center School of Medical Imaging (Winchester Medical Center) and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine (SJC) have joined together to help students interested in becoming radiologic technologists reach their goals. Two pathways between the institutions have been created and formalized through a transfer agreement. One pathway results in the student earning their Associate degree - the other will result in a Bachelor's. Students should review the two pathways via the transfer maps linked below.

Students who need prerequisite courses for consideration for entry to Winchester Medical Center's Medical Radiography Program may begin in a degree program with Saint Joseph's College and take those prerequisites as part of their degree, so long as they fit into the program. Otherwise, these courses can be taken through SJC and paid for out-of-pocket as a non-matriculated student. Details surrounding pre-requisite courses and how they fit into SJC’s online programs are outlined in the transfer maps linked on this page. Students who prefer to complete the Associate degree pathway first can always apply to return to SJC thereafter to finish their Bachelor's.

Transfer maps should be referenced by the student as they work with their admissions counselor, and eventually, their advisor, each time they enroll in classes. Students in need of prerequisite courses should be aware that Winchester Medical Center requires all prerequisite courses to be completed with a 2.5 GPA or better. Students are responsible for planning for and participating in the Winchester Medical Center admissions process at the time at which they are eligible to apply.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This transfer agreement and the following of the associated transfer maps do not guarantee entry into Winchester Medical Center's radiologic science program. Additional considerations are made by Winchester Medical Center when reviewing applicants for acceptance that are outside the scope of the student's college education that may impact acceptance to the program, and spaces are limited. Applications to Winchester Medical Center's program are accepted from December 1st to April 1st each year. Classes then begin in Winchester Medical Center’s program at the end of June each year. SJC students must have all prerequisites completed in order to apply to Winchester Medical Center, and must be done with SJC by June so that there is no overlap in classes. Students who are not admitted into Winchester Medical Center are welcome to speak with their advisor about alternative program options at Saint Joseph's College, as no degree in Radiologic Science Administration can be awarded from SJC without the technical training in radiography having been completed elsewhere in a JRCERT accredited program and transferred in.
