Angela Franks’ doctoral dissertation was on the trinitarian theology and metaphysics of Hans Urs von Balthasar. She has a specialization in theology of the body and sexual ethics.  Accordingly, her book on the eugenic beliefs of Margaret Sanger (Margaret Sanger’s Eugenic Legacy: The Control of Female Fertility [Jefferson, N.C.: McFarland, 2005]) attempts to give a “new feminist” twist, á la John Paul II, to the history of birth control in America.

Franks have a passion for applying theological truths to public-policy debates.
